Jonathan Cake, currently appearing in Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway revival of The Philanthropist, and his actress wife, Julianne Nicholson of Law and Order: Criminal Intent, welcomed their second child, a daughter, on April 30. The pair have a son, Ignatius, age one and half.
"Phoebe Margaret Cake is the most joyful addition to our little family, the embodiment of springtime," Cake said of their new addition.
The news is the second parenthood-related tidbit to descend upon the Philanthropist cast recently: leading man Matthew Broderick and wife Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed on April 29, the day before Nicholson’s delivery, that the pair were expecting twin daughters later this summer with the help of a surrogate mother.
Cake, a native of Sussex, England, now living in New York, is best know for screen roles including First Night, Extras, Brideshead Revisted and yes, a guest spot on Nicholson’s Law and Order, as well as turns on Broadway in Medea and Cymbeline and off-Broadway in Parlour Song and Almost an Evening. He and Nicholson were married on September 24, 2004.
